
Washington 1st-graders took a field trip to Hubbard Park yesterday and walked the nature trails while completing a scavenger hunt to look for different items within the park! Students enjoyed their time at the park and learned many new things they were eager to share.






Volunteers from the United Way came for a second visit this year to share their love of reading with Washington students.
Some of the volunteers were even former Washington students themselves!

4th-grade students at Washington presented their natural disaster projects to their families and peers! Projects showcased tsunamis, volcanoes, hurricanes, and more. Students did research and typed their findings into published reports. What a great job by these talented kids!

On Monday, the West Haven High School Theatre Workshop performed “Snow White and the Seven Entrepreneurs” during its Children’s Theatre Field Trip for all our elementary schools!











Ms. Coughlin’s 1st graders at Washington got help from Ms. Janelle (BT) and Mr. Edwards (Security) to plant Zinnia seeds so they could learn about the life and growth cycle of plants! Students took guesses on how many days it would take for germination.








Congratulations to 3rd-grader Demetri Foster and 4th-grader Ailanee Cora on being named runner-ups in the Land Trust Poetry Contest! They received a $15 gift certificate to Barnes & Noble for their efforts.
