Second graders also delivered a presentation on solving problems with technology, highlighting inventions that have helped millions of people around the world. Washington's 4th graders had a special visit from Mayor Borer and guests from The Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station. Students learned all about insects and explored the history of bees, including which species call Connecticut home. Such an awesome hands‑on learning experience! 🐝📚

Washington Elementary held its January All School Awards with students gathered in the gym to celebrate hard work and dedication. Students were recognized for iReady and Lexia progress, 173 students earned certificates for perfect attendance from 1/5 to 1/28, and 13 students received special recognition for perfect attendance since the first day of school, along with a free kids meal from Texas Roadhouse. A special shoutout to our 3rd graders for presenting what they have been learning about government and history. To top it all off, students learned they can earn raffle tickets through attendance and effort for a chance to win one of two brand new bikes at the end of the school year. Congrats to all our students, our teachers and staff are so proud 🏆🎉🚲
