REMINDER | Wednesday, May 22, 2024, will be a half-day session for students due to Staff Development.


4th-graders at Washington School performed their spring concert this morning in front of family and staff! The theme of the concert was, ‘America’. Due to a network outage, phone lines and internet are currently down at all schools except West Haven High School. The issue is being worked on and we will post updates when available.

First up for mental health awareness month is our Washington support team! Students in grades K-4 benefit from ongoing classroom SEL lessons on character education, emotion identification and other skills needed for relationship building. Washington students also have access to a School Based Health Clinician located right in the building. May is Mental Health Awareness Month. Throughout the month, we will be highlighting both school and community-based teams that provide support to our students and their families. Also, on May 6th, Pupil Services will showcase our SEL and wraparound supports during the Board of Education meeting.

The first graders in Room 9 at Washington had fun learning about pollution and how it affects the air we breathe. We also learned some simple ways to prevent it. We played a game of "hide and seek" with pollution. We could smell it or see it at times. Our little learners had a blast checking if their water was polluted by stirring it!
