Forest Elementary celebrated our amazing 4th graders today with their end-of-year promotion ceremony! 🎓💫 These students are headed to 5th grade at Carrigan Intermediate, and we know Carrigan is getting some truly great kids. 💙 We’re so proud of all you’ve accomplished and can’t wait to see the success that lies ahead! 🌟




Field Day fun at Forest Elementary! 🎉💪 Our students wrapped up the year with a day full of parachute games, tug of war, colorful chalk artwork, corn hole, kickball, relay races, dancing, and more! 🏃♂️🎶⚽ They’ve worked so hard all year and definitely earned this celebration. 💙






4th graders from Forest School had a blast today at Woodlawn Duckpin Bowling in West Haven! 🎳✨ Bowling under the vibrant neon lights and finishing off with a pizza party made for an unforgettable celebration. Congratulations to all the kids for their hard work this year—keep shining bright! 🍕🎉



4th graders from all our elementary schools came together for a fun-filled Field Day at Painter Park! 🏃♂️🎉 They played games like tug-of-war, potato sack races, relays, and more. Plus, they were treated to lunch and cold drinks to stay fueled and refreshed! 💪🍔🥤☀️ Huge thanks to everyone who made it happen. 5th grade, here they come! 🎓💙







Forest School hosted a Glow Party this week, where student artwork lit up the gym — literally. 🎨 With the lights off and the art glowing, families and students enjoyed a creative and fun night celebrating student work. A great time was had by all.




There will be no school on Monday, May 26, 2025, in observance of Memorial Day. 🎶 Forest Elementary’s 4th grade chorus put on a wonderful concert this week! The students sang beautifully in the gym, performing in front of fellow students and staff 🌟🎤 A big thank you to Mr. Farrell for leading the way with his musical talent and guidance. 🌟 Last night at WHHS, the 2025 Unsung Hero Recipient Dinner was held, celebrating the incredible individuals who make a difference every day in our schools.
Each school selected its very own unsung hero—from security guards and secretaries to teachers, speech pathologists, and more. No matter the position, every member of West Haven Public Schools plays a vital role in shaping the lives of our students and supporting our community.
We are proud to work alongside such dedicated professionals who care deeply about the education and well-being of our youth. Last night was a special opportunity to recognize and honor their hard work and commitment. 🙌

🎨 The hallways of Forest Elementary are bursting with creativity! On display this week are vibrant portraits of geometric animals, inspired by contemporary Spanish artist Okuda San Miguel 🦁🟥🎨 Alongside them are beautifully crafted basket-weaving–inspired pieces, showcasing both color and texture. These amazing works come from the talented 4th grade artists in Ms. Paine’s, Mrs. Yagovane’s, and Mrs. Luzietti’s classes. Incredible job, everyone! 🧡👏

🎒 On Wednesday, May 7, West Haven Public Schools proudly welcomed the Class of 2038 at Kindergarten Orientation! 🌟
Held at each elementary school, incoming kindergartners and their families had the opportunity to meet the school principal, kindergarten teachers, and paraprofessionals. It was a special day of connection and excitement as both students and parents got a first look at the school experience ahead.
While students participated in a fun, interactive reading session, parents received an informative presentation covering daily schedules, transportation, safety protocols, communication options, attendance, and school policies. To wrap up the day, students rejoined their families for a guided tour of their respective schools.
